Wool carpet has an extensive history, beginning an estimated 8000 years ago with
people first learning to shear sheep and goats and create weaving techniques from

in Punjab and Jaipur in Rajasthan.
Jaipur is also known for its hand knotted woolen carpets. Carpets created here are
known for their intricate work, which is reflective of the Persian tradition.
