Jaipur is the hub for chased, engraved, enamelled, lacquered and encrusted metalware.
A wide range of items, including vases, perforated lamps, table tops, fruit bowls,
planters, jewellery boxes and picture frames can be found. Ink wells, pen cases,
styluses, compasses and holders are the other outstanding brass, iron, or silver
items found in Rajasthan.
Jaipur also has a tradition of brass sculptures, well finished and polished to a
shine. Vivid enamel is also used to highlight the tracery on beaten brassware.
Traditional silver articles like handas or water containers, spice bottles, baskets
and trays are popular overseas white metal articles too, command sizeable export
markets.

India is the largest brass and copper making region in the world with thousands
of establishments spread all over for articles made out of one or more pieces of
metal. Goods produced have an all India market, with a portion being exported to

Gold & Silverware
Gold and Silverware Rajasthanis love gold and silver. They are considered the two
most precious metals. Apart from jewellery, these two metals, especially silver,
are also used to make objects of beauty and utility.
Rajasthanis create heavenly jewel boxes, hand mirrors, tiny containers, and curios
in silver, many a time encrusted with precious and semi-precious stones.
