Hot Sun Over Head - Sizzling Heat Waves and Rising Mercury in Rajasthan

The state is under the grip of a severe heat wave. Normal life has come to a standstill in western Rajasthan as its is reeling under sizzling heat wave.

The mercury is already touching 46 degrees Celsius, about five degrees above normal in the desert districts of Rajasthan such as Barmer, Jaisalmer and Bikaner.

The sizzling heat left the roads and business places almost empty as people preferred to sit in the comfort of their homes. Coolers and Air Conditioners also failed to bring much relief to the people.
