Rajasthan Ayurved University(RAU) in Jodhpur is first Ayurved University in Rajasthan and second University of its kind in India. The university was established in 2002 and at present 44 colleges are affiliated to this university.
RAU has its own constituent college of Ayurved, constituent DAN & P training center and Herbal farming center.
RAU Campus
RAU campus is situated at Kadwad, on Jodhpur-Nagaur Highway and acquires 322 acres of land. It has many departments including Central Administrative Block, 263 beded Hospital, Academic Block, Residential Quarters, Sports Complex, Herbal garden & Herbal farm etc. This institute has a conducive environment with functions of the teaching, research and technology. The climatic conditions around the university, landscaping and cost effectiveness makes it eco-friendly.
Courses and Admission Process
Rajasthan Ayurved University conducts UG, PG, Diploma and Doctoral courses like BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, MD (Ayu.), MD (Homoeo), PhD (Ayurveda). Diploma courses are of 1 year duration, UG courses are of 4 yrs or 5 and half years. M.D courses has 2 years and for PhD it conducts 2-7years program. The university also conducts certification for Ksharsutra, Panch Karma and B. Pharma courses.
For admission in RAU affiliated colleges the university conducts an entrance exam of state level and national level. After clearing the exam the candidates are selected on the basis of merit list.
RAU’s own Hospital and Patients care Services
RAU has its own Hospital with OPD and IPD facilities at Jhalamand circle. The specialized OPD services in Kayachikitsa, Panchkarma, Shalya-Shalakya, Stri-Prasuti, Bala Roga and Swastha Rakshan are available in this hospital by the faculty.
Presently IPD Services are available with 100 beds in the campus. The university hospital has already developed Shalya-karmagar (O.T.) and Panchkarma-karmagar where a large number of patients are getting treatment every day.
Research and Development Activities
The students and faculty member of RAU are encouraged to write projects for financial support from funding agencies like ICMR, CCRAS, CCRUM, CCRYN, CCRH, CSIR, DST, UGC, INSA etc. as well as international agencies like WHO, NIH etc. The University is going to develop its research laboratories with facilities for advanced biochemical, microbiological and immunological investigations.
