Rabindra Nath Tagore Medical College (RNTMC), situated in Udaipur, was established in the year 1962.

The college is recognized by Medical Council of India and is affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health and Sciences, Jaipur.

The building of RNTMC was donated by the HH ex-Maharana of Udaipur and its administrative block is housed in another historical palace that was donated by Salumber Rao.

Objective

RNTMC was started with an objective to spread the light of medical education in the state. Over the years, the college has become one of the leading medical institutes in the state. It imparts academic excellence in the field of medicines at multiple levels.

Courses and Admission Procedure

RNTMC offers 5.5 years bachelor’s degree courses in MBBS. To get admission in the college the candidate has to clear PMT (pre medical test) and after that merit list is prepared on the basis of score of the candidates. As per the Government of India norms, the reservation for SC, ST and OBC is available in the college.

Every year, the college offers 100 seats in graduation, 66 seats in post graduation, 18 seats in diploma and 1 seat in DM Cardiology, which commenced from 2006.

Training Standard of RNTMC and Facilities

RNTMC has a very good and professional training standard especially in medicine. It has started offering one seat in DM cardiology from 2006 as well. The students get trained here and it is rendering its services to patients from both rural & urban sectors. The college also provides all basic facilities like canteen, hostel, well furnished classroom, library, conference hall etc.

Practical Education in Hospitals

The college is attached to various hospitals to provide a blend of theoretical and practical education.   The hospitals include the likes of Maharana Bhupal District Hospital, Panadhay Female District Hospital, Hindustan Zinc Cardiology Hospital, Saith Ramvilas Bhuwalaka Yakshma Arogya Sadan and the Badi Tatha Baal Chikitsalaya. In these hospitals the students get the practice training of what they have learnt.
