Ila Arun was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan and did graduation from Maharani Girls college which is located in Jaipur. Her brother Piyush Pandey is an ad-maker while her sister Rama Pandey is a Producer-Director.

She has sung many Rajasthani songs in music albums and hindi movies. She has produced several musical albums such as Vote for Ghagra, Morni, Main ho gayi sawa lakh ki, Mera Assi Kali ka Ghagra, Darudi, Bichuda,Main Raatan Jagi etc
She recently sang the promotional song Halla Bol for the Rajasthan Royals team in the IPL which became an instant hit. She has also acted in critically acclaimed films such as China Gate, Chingari, and the most recent Welcome to Sajjanpur. She has sung “Ringa Ringa” on the soundtrack of oskar award winning film Slumdog Millionaire.
