Sachin Pilot - Congree Candidate for Indian General Elections from Ajmer

Sachin Pilot is the  Congress candidate for Ajmer Parliamentary Constituency in this years’s General Elections.

In the last elections, Sachin easily entered the Lok Sabha from his family fiefdom in Dausa. But this time its a total different scene. He has been fielded in Ajmer, a BJP bastion where the Congress has won just once in the past 25 years.  The reason for shift from Dausa is because post  delimitation, it has been declared a reserved seat.

As in Dausa, Sachin is relying on a sizeable Gujjar vote bank and traditional Congress supporters to triumph in Ajmer. Although his youthful image is a definite plus, yet many in the area regard him an ‘outsider’.
