Bagar is a small town situated in the Shekhawati region at 14 Km from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. It was founded in the middle of 15th century by the Nagar Pathans Bagar.

Bagar is also well known for the havelis of Rungtas and Piramal Makharia Havali which has been known as famous heritage hotel in shekhawati.

The fresco on the walls of the Rungtas Haveli in Bagar show thematic transition of the fresco art as a result of the socio historical changes that marked the historical Rajasthani Art. This haveli  opens into a courtyard surrounded by corridors that leads to another larger courtyard which is surrounded by verandahs that lead to rooms.

Other Places of Interest in Bagar

Bagar is the only painted town of Shekhawati region where one can stay in a Marwari style. A large white gate (built in 1928 in honour Maharaja of Jaipur’s visit), Fatehsagar water tank (a large reservoir built by the Ojha family), and Miya Saheb ki Durgah are also worth visiting.
