Rajasthan State Industrial Infrastructure Growth Drivers – SEZs, EPIP, IT Parks etc.

Rajasthan State Industrial and Investment Corporation (RIICO), a State Government agency, has developed more than 300 industrial areas across various parts of Rajasthan. These industrial areas are developed with water, power, roads, shops and telecommunication facilities.

Currently More than 26633 industries are in production within the industrial areas developed by RIICO in Rajasthan.

Special Purpose Parks

RIICO is presently developing Theme Parks with special set of infrastructure and facilities for establishing industries of the same discipline in various cities of Rajasthan. The location for these industry specific areas are carefully selected after assessing the availability of related resources such as raw material, labor etc.

Some of the Important Parks Developed by RIICO are :

  • Export Promotion Industrial Parks (EPIP), Jaipur, Jodhpur and Neemrana

Export Promotion Industrial Parks have been set up at Sitapura in Jaipur, Neemrana in Alwar and Boranada in Jodhpur. EPIP Jaipur is the largest park in northern India.

  • Special Economic Zones (Jaipur and Jodhpur)

RIICO has set up  Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the State for Gems & Jewellery and Handicrafts at Jaipur and Jodhpur respectively.   • Agro Food Parks (Kota, Jodhpur, Sriganganagar & Alwar)
  • Information Technology Parks  (Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur)
  • Gems & Gold Jewelry Complex (Sitapura, Jaipur)
  • Textile City (Bhilwara)
  • Leather Complex (Manpur Macheri, Jaipur)
  • Ceramics Complex (Khara, Bikaner)
  • Minor Mineral Complexes (Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Dhoinda in Rajsamand and Mitrapura in Dausa).

Industrial Plots Can Now be Converted into Hotels in Rajasthan

Industrial Development Agency and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd (RIICO) has approved conversion of industrial plots into hotels.

In this way entrepreneurs can set up hotels on industrial plots in Rajasthan without any changes in land use for commercial purposes of the plot.

Not Required Any Conversion charges

According to RIICO’s Infrastructure Development Committee (IDC), the allottee will not be required to pay any conversion charges. Earlier, allottee had to pay thrice the prevailing value of the industrial plot for the conversion.

The approval for the hotel project will be subject to technical norms and building parameters relevant for setting up a hotel.

The requisite clearances from the statutory authority will also have to be obtained before setting up the property.

India Stonemart is primarily a Stones and Stone products fair which exhibits stones from all over India and beyond. Stone Mart is the largest exhibition for the stone industry.

The 5th edition of the fair  showcase the Indian stone industry in its totality, i.e. resources, capacity, capability and the technological  advancements. It  also act as a launching pad for newer products and technologies.

The list of overseas participants  includes exhibitors from China, Italy, Russia, Spain, Turkey, the UK and Oman.

Participants from within the country are from Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, New Delhi, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

It’s platform for vibrant varieties of marble, granite, sandstone, slate, limestone, quartzite and other decorative stones as well as mining and processing machinery, tools and related services.

Maximum participants, 133, are from Rajasthan while minimum participants, four each, are from Jharkhand and Punjab, while mere seven participants are from MP, another state with big stone industry.

Through all these years it has emerged as one of the important stone industry fairs in Asia, establishing itself as the focal point of stone related activities in North India.
