About College
The College of Home Science Bikaner is affiliated to Rajasthan Agricultural University.
The college functions with the governance of Dean, Members of Board of studies, Academic Council, P.G Council, Staff Council, and Committee of courses, HOD, DDO, Incharge-Departments, ADSW and Hostel Wardens.
Mission and Objective
The education based on home science provides the knowledge and skills for the role performance and management of resources at micro and macro levels to meet the challenges of technological advancement. The College’s objective is to develop the basic concepts of Home Science to everyday living and to promote problem solving abilities through constructive thinking in the students.
Courses and Admission Procedure
The college conducts the courses for B.Sc in home science, M.Sc and PhD in Food and Nutrition. For admission in College of Home Science Bikaner, a candidate must have bonafide domicile certificate prior to admission. A candidate can get admission in B.Sc Home science by clearing Joint Entrance Test (JET), in Masc. pre PG exam, conducted by the Controller of Examinations, Rajasthan Agricultural University.
Various Departments in College
The college has numerous departments related to different courses. They are Food and Nutrition, Human Development and Family Studies, Home Science Extension & Communication Management, Clothing and Textiles, Family Resource Management etc.
Research Activities and Awards
There are many research initiatives run in Food & Nutrition, HDFS, and HECM departments for which the students are given gold medal by the Rajasthan agricultural university.
