Cables and Conductors Sector in Rajasthan is one of the most rapidly growing industries, accounting approximately 26% of country’s total productions. Currently, more than 150 cable and conductor units are operating in and around Jaipur region.

In Rajasthan, the present investment stands at Rs 500 crore; exports at Rs10 crore and  nearly 10000 people are employed in this sector.
There is also a planning to have Investment of Rs1000 crore for new cable units at Pathredi in Bhiwadi. The State is seeking installation of additional power generating capacity of 4500 MW by 2011-2012.
Feeder Reform Programme
The State has undertaken the Feeder Reform Programme with keen interest. Till August 2008, 8474 feeders have been renovated, entailing an expenditure of Rs2633 crore ,and subsequently resulting in a cumulative loss reduction by over 10%
The Reform Programme by the State Government has also opened new markets for investment in cable and conductor industries
In the urban focus programme, segregation of urban feeders from rural feeders has been completed. Obsolete service lines have been replaced by armoured cables, resulting in an overall loss reduction by 20 to 22%. In the industrial sector, network strengthening has been undertaken which covers 132 KV Sub-station to 400 KV Sub-station.
