Inland Container Depots in Rajasthan

In order to facilitate seamless cargo movement, Inland Container Depots (ICDs) have been set up at Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhiwadi, Udaipur, Kota and Bhilwara. These are being managed by CWC – a central government undertaking with a wide network of ICDs all over the country.

What is Inland Container Depots ?

Inland Container Depots are running through which logistics supports are given to Exporter and Importers.

It is usually a place where there is no sea port & located in different locations in the country as designated by Indian Customs. Most of them are well connected by rail & serve the importers/exporters who are located away from the seaports. It is a way of decongestant the main ports where containers are kept for customs clearance & inspection.

New ICD Depot for Rajasthan

Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) and Kribhco Infrastructure Limited (KRIL) to set up a Rs.150-crore rail-linked inland container depot with allied facilities at Beda Banki village near Hindaun City railway station in Karauli district.

The KRIL also plans to set up a Free Trade Warehousing Zone.

Air Cargo Complex

The air cargo complex at the Sanganer Airport Jaipur provides facilities for customs inspection and shipment of non-bulk goods.
