About M.B.M

M.B.M engineering college Jodhpur is one of the best engineering colleges in India. The college was established on 15th August, 1951. This is the oldest college after Independence, even older than the oldest IIT Kharaghpur.

International Standard of College

Engineers produced by this institute are working all over the world. It meets with international standards for an engineering institute. The research products from this college have not only raised the name of the college, but it also raised the name of the Jodhpur city.

An example of this is “soil bearing capacity testing equipment” produced by Dr Alam Singh. A number of books written by the professors from this college are being used as text book in many universities in the world, including IIT’s and NIIT’s in India. This is only the engineering institute in the world which has its mining department with its own underground mine with ventilation system.

Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur – One of the Centers of Excellence in India

MNITRajasthan “Royal land of India” famous among tourists from across the globe has taken several initiatives to improve the educational scenario in the state.

Apart from school education various initiatives have also been taken to enhance the status of higher education.  There are many engineering colleges, institutes for the expansion and improvement of technical education in the state.

About MNIT

The Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur is one of the Centers of Excellence in the country. It was established by the MHRD, Government of India. The education institute is governed by the NIT council under the HRD Ministry.

The current Director of the Institute is Prof. R.P.Dahiya.

History

MNIT Jaipur was established in the year 1963. The college was inspired by the great educationist and freedom fighter Pt.Madan Mohan Malaviya and thus named as Malaviya Regional Engineering College. It was framed by joint efforts of the Government of India and the State Government.

In the year 2002, Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur was given the status of a Deemed University. The institute imparts courses in the engineering field at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.

The Institute conducts various educational programmes leading to the degree of Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.), Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.), Master of Technology (MTech.), Master of Science (MSc.), Master of Business Administration (M.B.A), Master of Planning and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) in different areas. Infrastructure of MNIT

The infrastructure of MNIT is very good as it has well equipped library, computer lab, seminar halls,various laboratories, workshops, hostels, health care center, mess, facilities for sports and different departments etc.

There are two canteens to provide refreshments to the students and the staff. There are two guest houses in the campus for needs of guests and students. There is a branch of the Bank of Rajasthan Limited and a Post-Office in the campus.

Other reputed banks such as SBI, ICICI, PNB etc. are within walking distance from the institute campus. A full-fledged Dispensary is also available in the campus which is supervised by a residential Medical Officer.

Placements

Several national and multi-national companies visit MNIT’s campus regularly. Some of the brand names from IT and Non IT companies are ZENSAR, ACCENTURE, WIPRO, INFOSYS, HINDUSTAN ZINC, NEI BEARINGS, BEL, TATA MOTORS.  The average placement figures as quoted from different reports come out to be in ascending order of about Rupees four-five lakhs. The highest package has gone of 11LACS.

Naik Digendra Kumar – Best Commando of the Indian Army from Rajasthan

Born on 3 July 1969 in a village Jhalara in Sikar district Rajasthan, Naik Digendra kumar is considered one of the Best Commando of the Indian Army. He was commander of the Light Machine Gun Group . His father’s name was Shivdan Singh Paraswal and mother was Rajkaur. Shivdan Singh was a strong follower of Arya Samaj, who joined Indian Army and was badly wounded in 1948 Indo-Pak war.

Digendra’s Career in Army

On 3 September 1985 Digendra Kumar joined 2 Rajputana Rifles and became the Best Commando of the Indian army. By his passion and hard work he got the skill to hit a target on the basis of only sound. After completing the training his battalion was posted in Kashmir. In 1987 he was sent in Indian Peace keeping Force and took part in ‘Operation Pawan’ in Sri Lanka where his acts of bravery were highly appreciated.

Role of Digendra in Kargil War

In May and July 1999 Pakistani soldiers infiltrated into the positions on the Indian side of the Line of Control(LOC).This LOC works as a defacto between the two states. Pakistani soldiers occupied the strategic locations enabling to control NH1. So the Kargil War took place between India and Pakistan in the Kargil district of Kashmir.

Naik Digendra Kumar, the commander of the Light Machine Gun Group during his company’s assault on Tololing feature in Dras Sector. The objective of his batalian was to capture a well-fortified enemy post located in a treacherous high altitude terrain at over 15000 feet. His Company was given the task of recapturing Point 5490.

His Great Courage in War

On 13 June 1999, when the Assault Group was nearing its objective it came under effective enemy fire of a well-concealed universal machine gun and heavy machine gun because of which many soldiers of his group were killed. Naik Digendra Kumar was hit by a bullet in his left arm. Unmindful of his own injury, Naik Digendra Kumar kept firing with one hand and brought down effective and accurate Light Machine Gun fire on the enemy.

His accurate fire kept the enemy’s head down while his own men advanced towards the objective. Finally, under his effective covering fire, own troops physically assaulted the enemy position and cleared it after a hand to hand fight. Despite being seriously wounded, it was due to his courageous action that the Assault Group could finally capture the objective

The President, Mr KR Narayanan conferred Maha Vir Chakra on 15 August 1999 to Digendra Kumar who displayed conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage and extreme devotion to duty

Thakur Deshraj – Famous Freedom Fighter, Social Worker and Journalist from Rajasthan

Thakur Deshraj was a social worker, journalist, nationalist, freedom fighter and author of many books. He was born in village Jhagina of district Bharatpur in Rajasthan in 1952.

Condition of farmers before independence

When in 30 March 1949 the state of Rajasthan came into existence it was composed of several princely states of Rajputana. The condition of the farmers in Rajasthan was bad. The farmers of the Rajasthan were exploited and oppressed by the Jagirdars during British Raj.

They were given in-human treatment when the Jagirdars did not get tax, they were given hard punishments and their crop used to be destroyed. There was not a single primary school. They could not wear a colored Pagri or turban. They could not sit on a charpoy in front of the Rajput Thakur. They were treated as untouchables. Their ladies were made to wear clothes similar to those worn by lower classes. They were not allowed to wear gold ornaments.

Thakur Deshraj awakened farmers to fight

Thakur Deshraj awakened the farmers to fight for their rights. He published local newspapers to promote the farmers and to awakened them to realize the self-respect. He started a newspaper named ‘Rajasthan Sandesh’ in 1931 for this purpose. With his efforts the All India Jat Mahsabha could be associated with the farmer movement in Shekhawati.

He was a strong follower of Arya Samaj. He started taking part in politics from 1920-21. Thakur Deshraj came to Mandawa in 1929 to take part in ‘Arya Samaj’ function and realized the social problems of Jats in Shekhawati region. He published a series of articles in ‘Jatveer’ on the acts of oppression on farmers, which awakened them. He was the main leader and force behind the Shekhawati farmer’s movement from 1931 to 1935. His wife was Tribeni Devi.

Effects of his Struggle

With the efforts of Thakur Deshraj a sabha of Rajasthan Jat Mahasabha took place at Badhala village in Palsana. It was attended by famous revolutionist Vijay Singh Pathik, Baba Nrisingh Das, Chaudhary Laduram (Gordhanpura). In this sabha some rules were made for establishment Jat Panchayats to prevent the excesses of Jagirdars,education for the farmer’s son,economical,social and cultural development of farmers etc.

As a journalist he wrote in news papers like ‘Ganesh’, ‘Jatveer’, and ‘Rajasthan Sandesh’ etc. about the oppressive measures of the Jagirdars in Shekhawati region in Rajasthan and the Nawabs of Loharu in Haryana. His voice through these news papers reached up to House of Commons in England.
Later he was selected as revenue minister in the princely state of Bharatpur.

Personal Profile

Acharya Rajendrasuri was born on 3rd dec 1827 at Bharatpur in Rajasthan in a family of business man named Rishabhadas Parakh. His birth name was Ratna Raj. Since childhood he had such a brilliant grasping power that at age of 10–12 years he had acquired all the educational studies. When he was 14, his father and mother died.

Sacrifying Nature since Childhood

He was always attracted towards sole minded with sacrificing attitude towards a calm and peace of mind. He had a sole, unselfish, always helping nature towards other. He began to be more anxious to have the company of great Jain Acharyas and monks. He was too much impressed by them that he renounced the worldly life and was initiated as Jain yati by Hema Vijayaji at Udaipur in 1846 A.D.

Now Ratna Raj was known Rajendrasuri. He studied all the Jain scriptures, philosophy, literature, grammar, rhetoric, lexicography, etc. under Acharya Pramodsuri and Jain Monk Sagarchandji, the well-known yatis of the age and soon he acquired proficiency. Acharya Dharanendrasuri yati was so much impressed by the profound scholarship of Rajendrasuri that he appointed him his daftari and gave him the task of teaching the groups of yati disciples.

Rajendrasuri raised voice against corrupt life

Rajendrasuri was disgusted with the princely and luxurious life of Dharanendrasuri. He raised his voice against the corrupt and luxurious life of the Jain yatis and insisted all the yatis to live a pious ideal life in accordance with the principles laid down by Jain Tirthankaras and Jain Holy Scriptures.

He also worked hard to reform the institution of Jain yati and get rid of its age old traditions and superstitions. Initially he was opposed by some yatis but finally he got success. As a result of this the Jain yatis/Monk had given up their worldly life and surrendered their princely symbols like silver rods, chanwar, palkhi, arms, etc. to the Jain temples, and took solemn oath to lead a life of purity, simplicity, non-possession, non-violence, teaching and preaching.

His contribution for the monk Institutions

Rajendrasuri reformed and simplified the Jain yati/monk institution. He restored and reconstructed the Jain temples and installed the Jain images and established different socio-religious organizations for the uplift of the Jains and propagation of Jainism.

On the 21st December Friday 1906 A.D. Acharya Rajendrasuri laid down his body for the Moksha Prapti till death in a still Samadhi. A great saint who was in his own a different kind having same date of birth and death.

Maharaja Ganga Singh – Founder of Chief Court in Bikaner and Ganga Canal

Shri Ganga Singh ji was born on October 3, 1880. He was the third and youngest son of Maharaja Sri Lal Singh. .He was a ruler with modern reformist vision of the princely state of Bikaner in present-day Rajasthan, India.

His education and Training

Shri Ganga Singh ji was initially educated privately, then at Mayo College, Ajmer from 1889 to 1894. After that, he went under the guidance of Thakur Pratap Singh Ji “CHURU” for administrative training, learning administrative work from that of Patwari to that of Prime Minister.

He took military training in Deoli in 1898 and got attached to the Deoli Regiment, which had the reputation of being one of the finest Regiment in India under the command of Lt. Col. Bell. During the first World War, he commanded the Bikaner Camel Corps which served in France, Egypt and Palestine.

Contribution for the Society

As a ruler, he established a Chief Court in Bikaner and presided over by a Chief Judge. Bikaner was the first State in Rajasthan to take such a step. A life insurance and Endowment Assurance Scheme was introduced for the benefit of the employees. Also, facilities of a saving bank were made available to the people. He was one of the first rulers to introduce through legislation a Sharda Act by which child marriages were stopped.

Singh constructed the Ganga Canal. He inspired people to come and settle in this new Command area. A large population settled than there. He successfully dealt with the worst famine of the year 1899-1900 AD in the region. This famine inspired the young Maharaja to establish an irrigation system to get rid of the problem permanently. He developed the city of Sri Ganganagar and its surrounding area as the most fertile grain bowl of Rajasthan. He brought railways and an electricity network to the state.

After the First World War, Maharaja Ganga Singh took up the task of Industrialization in the State. As a result of all this a coal mine at Palana, Cottage ginning Factories of cotton Press in Ganganagar Dist., the wool pressing Factory, the glass work, Soap Factory, Cigarette Factory, the pulse Factory, File Factory, Printing Press and a big Railway workshop started working in the State.

Honors for Highness Maharaja “Sir Ganga Singh

For his services to the cause of Indian Nationalism he was entitled as an honored place among the ranks of the great Indian Patriots. Maharaja Ganga Singh was one of the most consistent Nationalists and many medals like India Service Medal-1945, china war medal were given to him. Maharaja Ganga Singhji passed away on 2nd February 1943 at Bombay.
